What a busy week it has been in the Indiana House of Representatives. We passed 72 pieces of legislation onto the Senate for further discussion. In addition, we had our first House Bill (HB) of the session signed into law by the governor.

Logansport Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Agnes Kenny MD to its medical staff. She has joined the Logansport Memorial Physician Network, bringing her extensive family medicine experience to our established group of family medicine physicians.

4-H enrollment deadline is March 1

“The New Face of 4-H” is the statewide 4-H theme again this year for the Indiana 4-H program. If your child is in the third or fourth grades in Cass County, they should have brought home some information about 4-H (Mini 4-H for first and second graders).

Logansport Memorial and Aetna Reach Verbal Agreement

For 17 years, Logansport Memorial Hospital has operated under the same Aetna contract for hospital reimbursement. In November 2011, Aetna proposed a reduction in reimbursement rates to Logansport Memorial Hospital. “The proposed payment reduction put LMH at a significant financial disadvantage,” commented CEO David Ameen.

Cass County Historical Society receives $20,000 grant

The Cass County Historical Society has been named the recipient of a $20,000.00 charitable grant from The Castaldi Family Fund, a donor-advised fund for support of their ancestors who settled Cass County and helped it grow. Lawrence J. Castaldi’s ancestors came in 1880 and opened the fist of the Solimano and Castaldi grocery stores in Logansport. Ruth J.
