
Does the city of Logansport have a curfew?

The city's curfew law is explained as follows in Ordinance 2002-41:
It is a curfew violation for a child under 16 to be in a public place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. any day.
It is a curfew violation for children ages 16 & 17 to be in a public place
- between midnight and 5 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday
- after 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday
- before 5 a.m. Monday through Friday
There are exceptions if the child is accompanied by a parent, guardian or custodian, or an another adult specified by the parent, guardian or custodian. Other activities, including participating in, going to or returning from lawful employment, a school sanctioned activity, a religious event or an emergency are also exceptions.
The parent, guardian or custodian of children committing curfew violations is subject to the following penalties:
- $50 for a first offense
- $100 + court costs for a second offense within a one-year period
- $200 plus court costs for third offense and every subsequent offense within a one-year period.
