Purdue Extension will be hosting several fun, educational activities for fairgoers at the Cass County 4-H Fair this year, July 11-16.  Fairgoers can participate in an Agriculture Scavenger Hunt while at fair.  The scavenger hunt form can be picked up at the Fair Office.  Participants will be able to find answers to the scavenger hunt on signs placed around the fairgrounds.  Completed scavenger hunt forms can be turned back in to the Fair Office for a prize.

Purdue Extension and Reading Railroad are teaming up to offer Storytime at the Fair.  Storytime will take place at the new West Picnic Pavilion from 10-11am Monday, July 11- Friday, July 17.  Children will be able to listen to story, participate in fun activities and meet the fair animal of the day.  Pre-registration is not required but would be appreciated.  To sign up contact the Purdue Extension Cass County Office at 574-753-7750, or visit or call the Fair office at 574-753-7610 at the Cass County 4-H Fairgrounds during the week of the fair (July 11-16).

Lastly, Purdue Extension Cass County’s Family Nutrition Program Assistant, Rachel Taylor will be presenting “How to Pack a Picnic” Wednesday, July 13 at 5 p.m. in the Community Center.  Rachel will talk about food safety and give fun and tasty picnic ideas.

Also, don’t forget to check out the Cass County 4-H members’ exhibits in the Community Center and watch the youth show their 4-H livestock in the Exhibition Building. Purdue Extension invites you to mark your calendars for the Cass County 4-H Fair July 11-16.   See you at the Fair!
