What are my responsibilities for maintaining my yard?

Landowners within the city limits of Logansport are required to prevent weeds from growing on their property to a height exceeding eight (8) inches.
If the property owner fails to control weed growth, a one-time mowing notice for the mowing season will be issued by the City Code Enforcement officer.
The property owner will be given seven (7) days to correct the violation. After the one-time notice has been issued, the Code Enforcement Department has the right to order the property mowed at any time. If the landowner fails to remove said weeds within the time prescribed, the City of Logansport may remove or cause to be removed such weed growth.
The landowner of the property will receive a statement of actual and associated costs incurred by the city, including a $100 administration fee. For multiple violations, the fee/fine will increase in increments of a minimum of $100 per violation per mowing season. If the landowner fails to pay the amount within ten (10) days after issuance of the statement, a certified copy of the statement of costs shall be filed in the office of the Auditor, Cass County, to be a lien on the property and collected as taxes.
