As part of its celebration of National Laboratory Week, April 23-27, the Logansport Memorial Hospital Laboratory will hold a “Cutest Pet” Contest to support the Cass County Animal Shelter. Participants may pay a $5 entry fee to enter a favorite picture of a pet by 8 a.m. on Friday, April 27. The money collected from the $5 entry fees will go as a donation to the Cass County Animal Shelter.

The Logansport Police Department is accepting applications through May 7, 2012. Applications may be obtained from their office on the second floor of the Logansport City Building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Yesterday, Cass County Community Foundation President Deanna Crispen announced the renewal of a Foundation pilot scholarship award program which had a very positive impact on many local organizations and students during the last two summers.

Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly encouraged high school students to participate in the U.S. House of Representatives’ annual art competition, the Artistic Discovery Contest.  The winner of the competition from Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District will have his or her piece displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel leading to the U.S.
