Allen L. Baker Sr., 86, of Royal Center, passed away peacefully at 2:10 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
He was born on May 14, 1928 in Rochester. On December 24, 1955 he married Sonja Alfredsdottir. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1989.
Allen was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and former Merchant Marine. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo. Allen enjoyed fishing, buying and selling firearms and mowing his yard.
Survivors include his children, Sonja K. Lindzy (Gary) of Venice, Florida, Rick A. Baker (Denna), Ruth M. Baker, Robert L. Baker (Kim), all of Royal Center, Allen L. Baker of Logansport and Linda M. Rude (Brian) of Royal Center. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Trish Davis, Hollie Brown (Lenny), Blaine Brew (Kristin), Braxton Baker, Brianna Rude, Brooklyn Rude and Brandi Rude and 5 great grandchildren, Keegan Davis, Paris Davis, Ethan Brown, Gavin Brew and Griffin Brew.
He was also preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ball.
Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 23, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center with Pastor Ryan Lewellen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial with Military Rites will performed at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
