Mayor Ted Franklin announced today that the City of Logansport will begin offering the Litter Critter Program that will provide city residents with an additional resource to discard large amounts of unwanted items.
“The Litter Critter Program will serve the community in an effort to keep our neighborhoods clean”, said Mayor Franklin. “The service provides our citizens with another means to dispose of unwanted items,” he added.
Residents must call the Street Department for availability of the Litter Critter trailer. Residents are required to pre-pay the disposal fee of $93.00 to Oak Ridge Landfill and present the paid receipt to the Street Department located at 612 Race Street. The scheduling of the Litter Critter trailer is on a first come-first serve basis with the paid receipt. The 6×14 trailer will be delivered by the Street Department between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the scheduled weekdays and picked up at 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Weekend deliveries will be made between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Fridays and will be picked up at 7:00 a.m. on the following Monday.
Dan Williams, Superintendent of Public Works said, “The Street Department is pleased to provide this service to the community in an effort to keep the cost to a minimum for residents and to keep our neighborhoods clean and free of discarded debris.”
A release from liability form will be signed by the resident at the time of scheduling acknowledging the city is not responsible for any damage, injury or other occurrence that results from the use of the Litter Critter trailer. Residents will receive procedure guidelines with a list of prohibited items with disposal alternatives.
You may call the Logansport Street Department at (574) 753-4610 if you have questions.
