Help with high energy bills, access to fresh produce available through Area Five

Area Five Agency is offering is accepting applications for two programs.

Summer Cooling Assistance is available for eligible individuals while funding lasts. A family of four is eligible if they make under $3,031 a month and have not already received the summer benefit.  New applicants and denied households can apply once between July 1 and August 15, 2015 or as long as funding is available.

Energy saving kits are available for approved households only. Visit areafive.com and click on families, then click on “energy assistance” for more information. Available in Cass, Howard, Miami, Tipton and Wabash Counties.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is accepting applications for access to fresh produce grown locally. Eligible individuals must be Indiana residents, 60 years of age or older, income eligible and receive a service provided by Area Five Agency. A household of one is eligible if they make under $1,815 a month. The program is only available while vouchers last. Individuals can apply once between June 15 and Sept. 30, 2015, as vouchers are available, per household.
