Leland L. Patty

Leland L. Patty, 82, of Apopka, Florida passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, from complications following open-heart surgery.

Born October 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Glen and Lillian Meeker Patty. He was born in the garage of his family home following a house fire. On November 9, 1958, he married the love of his life, Vala Leota Taylor who survives.

Leland graduated from Royal Center High School in 1952. He served in the Marines from 1954-1956. When he returned from the service he farmed with his father Glen and his brother Dean before retiring and moving to Florida in 1986. He later retired (again) from Brambleridge Golf Course in Florida. Leland formerly was a member of Center Presbyterian Church. Prior to moving to Florida, he also served on the Pioneer School Board.

Surviving are his wife, Vala Leota Patty of Apopka, FL; three daughters, Debby (Al) French, Apopka, FL; Teresa Patty, Arizona, and Lani (Chris) Franklin, Royal Center; two grandsons, Jake (Lisa) Franklin, Lafayette, IN; Casey Franklin, Royal Center; and three great-grandchildren Makenna, Haizley, and Bryden Franklin, all of Lafayette, IN.

Also surviving are two brothers, Clyde Patty; Dean (Louise) Patty; one sister Justine (Bob) Crume.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Burdette Patty and Jim Patty and one sister, Joan Gray.

Memorial Service with Military Rites will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Center Presbyterian Church in Royal Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
