2018 Independence Day Closings and Activities

Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States, marking the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

The following closings and activities have been reported:

The Cass County Government Building (courthouse) will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.

Logansport City offices, including LMU, will be closed on Wednesday, July 4. Due to the Independence Day holiday the Board of Public Works and Safety have moved the Wednesday, July 4 meeting to Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. on the third floor of City Hall in the City Council Chambers.

Logansport trash pickup: Republic Services will be operating the normal schedules on Monday and Tuesday but no trash & recycling pick up on Wednesday.  Due to the Independence Day holiday Wednesday routes will be picked up on Thursday, Thursday’s routes on Friday, and Friday’s routes on Saturday.  Please call Republic Service with questions at 800-989-2539.

The Eel Township Trustee’s Office will be closed on Wednesday July 4 in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches are closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Thursday, July 5.

Post offices will suspend retail and delivery operations on Wednesday , July 4 in observation of Independence Day.
