Clarifications about the Testing Process for COVID-19 in Cass County

The Cass County Health Department’s COVID testing clinic is located at 1616 Smith Street in Logansport.

COVID-19 testing through the Cass County Health Department is by appointment only. Please make an appointment for your testing online by going to You will be able to choose
how you want to receive your test results, either by text or email.

TESTING HOURS are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.

Individuals should bring proof of Indiana residency such as a state-issued ID, work ID or utility bill.

This testing is made possible through a grant from the Indiana Department of Health to ensure that community testing is available anywhere there is a need. Through this grant, all the testing supplies and equipment, including test kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), sanitizer and the platform for registration and data management, are provided. The grant continues through June 30, 2021, and is renewable.

COVID-19 testing process at Logansport Memorial Hospital:

  • Call your primary care provider first, and describe your symptoms.
  • You may be seen by your provider in the office, but depending on availability, your primary care provider may also send you directly to Express Medical Center.
  • To be tested at LMH, you must be symptomatic (have symptoms) and you will be seen by a provider for evaluation.
  • The only exception for testing without symptoms is for a scheduled surgery. If you need COVID-19 testing before your surgery date, testing is only available from 8:30 a.m. –3 p.m., Monday –Friday at Express Medical Center. No appointment is necessary.

ANTIBODY TESTS: Antibody Testing is currently available at Kroger’s Family of Pharmacies in all states. Their website indicates that this is for individuals who believe they may have already been infected with COVID-19 and are not currently experiencing symptoms are eligible for the test.
