Here’s the information we’ve received from elementary schools in Cass County for their kindergarten registration process.
Caston Elementary School will hold online registration for kindergarten. | Link
K-Parent night will be April 29 at 6 p.m.
LEWIS CASS ELEMENTARY
Lewis Cass will be having a Kindergarten Open House on Monday, April 19 for parents to walk their child around the building to meet the kindergarten and special area teachers. Students will also be able to take a short bus ride.
Kindergarten and Pre-K Round-Up will take place on from 12-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 and Wednesday, April 21. Please call 574-626-2504 to schedule an appointment.
The LCSC annual kindergarten roundup meeting will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at each elementary school (Fairview, Franklin, Columbia, Landis). Please plan on attending one of these informational meetings if you have a child entering kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Information will be shared at the meeting about screenings and online registration. Student screenings will take place Thursday, April 8 at your child’s home school between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. At the April 1 meeting, you will sign up for a screening time.
Your child must be 5 on or before August 1, 2021, to attend kindergarten.
Parents need to bring the following to the screening appointment on April 8:
- The child who will be attending kindergarten
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s immunization records
- Child’s Social Security Card
- Proof of Residency
- A copy of any education documents (like an IEP) if applicable
For students NOT currently enrolled at Pioneer Elementary Preschool, Kindergarten Roundup will be April 7 for students with last names beginning with letters A-H and April 8 for those with letters I-Z from 3:30-4:30 pm.
If your child is enrolled in preschool, and you’d like to attend the parent meeting, please reach out to schedule with Mrs. Stansbury (email@example.com).
Students will be assigned to a teacher and given a brief assessment in the classroom, while parents meet with Mrs. Stansbury and Mrs. Williams.
Please bring your child’s LEGAL birth certificate, social security card, and immunization records.
