Free summer meals for kids in Cass County

Free summer meals for children are available this summer at several locations around Cass County. We have compiled the information below but we encourage you to check with the agency for any updates.

Lewis Cass will be serving grab and go breakfast from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and lunch 10:45 a.m. -12 p.m. daily (Monday – Friday) June 1 through June 30.

Lewis Cass will also have a 5 breakfast, 5 lunch pick up on Wednesdays 3:30-5 p.m. Limited quantities available.

Logansport Community School Corporation provides free meals to children under the age of 18 during the summer. Students are encouraged to be present to receive meals. For questions please check the Food and Nutrition website at or call 574.722.2911.

There are two food pickup locations.

Columbia Elementary School
June 3-July 1, Monday through Friday
Meals can be picked up between 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m. Meals include one daily breakfast and one daily lunch.

Logansport High School Door 1
June 3-June 30, Monday through Friday
Meals can be picked up between 11:40 a.m. -12:10 p.m. Meals include one daily breakfast and one daily lunch.

Distribution days are June 7th, 14th, 21st, and the 28th.
Each student will receive 5 days worth of breakfasts and 5 days worth of lunches at NO CHARGE to the household. This is for ANY Pioneer student.
Curbside pickup is every Monday in June from 12-1 @ door #1 at the High School.
Delivery is available if needed.

Caston will be holding a Summer Feeding Grab-N-Go Program the whole month of June. Every Monday and/or Tuesday (excluding Memorial Day) pick-up from 11:30-1:00, at Door 9. Please drive around to the back of the school and there you will be given a weeks worth of breakfast and lunch.
Anyone 18 years and under qualifies and you do not have to be enrolled at Caston School Corporation.

In partnership with nearly 250 school and community sponsors, children 18 and younger across the state will have access to free meals and snacks throughout the summer break.

For more than 40 years, the Summer Food Service Program has provided eligible children and youth ages 18 and under with access to free, nutritious meals and snacks during the summer months. .

The Summer Food Service Program is a federal nutrition program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by the Indiana Department of Education. The program is designed to meet the needs of low-income children in areas where children may have limited access to good nutrition.
