Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 4, 2023.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day “is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

NO SCHOOL on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023 for Caston, Lewis Cass, Logansport, Pioneer
Logansport Municipal Utilities’ offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Logansport City Building will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 and City Council meeting will be held Sept. 11.
Cass County Government Building will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, 2023. Commissioners Meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Galveston Town Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, 2023.
All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Saturday, September 2
through Monday, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Branches will resume regularly
scheduled business hours on Tuesday, September 5. For a complete list of branch locations and hours, to complete an online transaction, or to find a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosk near you visit IN.gov/BMV.
U.S. Post Offices – no mail pickup or delivery on Monday, Sept. 4.
Check with your bank for their hours for the holiday weekend – some are closed on Saturday!
The Walton Library will be closed Saturday, Sept. 2 – Monday, Sept. 4.
The Cass County Dentzel Carousel at Riverside Park will be open for the final weekend of the season. Hours are Saturday & Sunday 1-9 p.m. , Labor Day Monday 1-5 p.m. Labor Day Monday is the last day of the season. Rides will be FREE on Saturday (9/2) and Sunday (9/3) thanks to the Cass County Community Foundation in observance of their 30th anniversary. | More info
LOGANSPORT TRASH PICKUP: No trash or recycling by Republic Services on Monday, Sept. 4. Pickup will be delayed one day with a Saturday pickup. (See schedule here).
The Cass County Recycling District Office (15 Biddle St, Logansport) will be closed Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023. They will be open from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. the first Saturday in October.
Downtown Senior Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, no lunch, no classes or activities.
Cass Area Transit: No city bus on Saturday, Sept. 2; closed (no buses at all) on Monday, Sept. 4.
Area Five Agency will be closed on Monday, September 4 in honor of Labor Day. They will reopen Tuesday, September 5.
Pets R Us (Cass County Humane Society) will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, 2023.
