Thanksgiving Activities & Closings

Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021.

This list may be updated as additional information is received.

CLOSURES:

TRASH PICKUP: Republic Services will be operating the normal schedules on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but no trash & recycling pick up on Thursday.  The Republic Services schedule shows that Thursday routes for City of Logansport residents will be collected on Friday and Friday routes will be collected on Saturday, and the City of Logansport says pickup will begin earlier than usual on those days.  For questions please call Republic Services at 800-989-2539.

The Royal Center Town Hall and Utilities office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving. Trash pick up for Royal Center residents will be delayed due to the holiday and will occur on Saturday, November 27.

Cass County Government Building (courthouse) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 & Friday, Nov. 26.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Thursday, November 25 through Saturday, November 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours beginning Monday, November 29. There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25.

EVENTS

The 25th Annual Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 26) at the Cass County YMCA. You may encounter road closures along the route during the event.

The 5th Annual Christmas in the Park Drive-Through hosted by the Logansport Parks and Recreation Foundation
Nov. 26 – Jan. 2 at Spencer Park, 3319 High Street in Logansport.  Lights on from dusk to dawn. Monday and Tuesday nights are walk-through only – enter from East Broadway / Cass Plaza Road. Free will donations accepted.

The Cass County Carousel will be open both Friday, November 26, and Saturday November 27, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. The Cass County Community Foundation’s “Thanks-for Giving” Grant will provide funds to be used to pay the expenses for the Carousel’s Friday and Saturday opening after the Thanksgiving holiday and will allow all rides to be free. | MORE INFO

The Light Up Logansport Parade will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2021.
