To initiate the new basketball courts at Riverside Park, the Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that it will hold it’s first 3 on 3 basketball tournament – the Eel River Summer Shootout – on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from noon – 6 p.m.

The Eel River Summer Shootout is a 16-team tournament for ages 16 and older.  The entry fee of $30 per team will cover the cost of a tee-shirt for each player, food, drink, and service providers (D.J., Trainer, Officials).

Event Director Ammon Tuitavuki, a member of the Logansport Parks Board, has said: “I’m excited to be planning this event for the City of Logansport!  I’ve played basketball all of my life, and am pleased to bring basketball players together on these brand-new courts!”

The primary sponsor of this event is “The Penny Way, LLC” owned by  Antonio Penny.  Antonio Penny has said:  “We (the Penny Family) are proud to be a part of something special, sponsoring a tournament where we grew up playing ball, and to inspire others in the community to play the game the right way!”

Each team must have three (3) players on their roster, but not more than four (4) players, and be registered as a team by the entry deadline of June 14th.  Additions and/or changes on rosters will be permitted until the first game has started.   Players may appear on only one (1) team roster. All players must sign the tournament waiver.

There will be no age or gender divisions.  All teams should expect to play within the first 2 hours of the tournament, i.e.,
Noon – 2 p.m.    No refunds will be given for any reason.
