This year’s July 4 festivities in Twelve Mile include the celebration of our nation’s birthday and Twelve Mile’s 170th birthday.

Saturday, July 2, 2022
Breakfast at the Community Building, 7 to 9:30 a.m., free will donation, full menu, hosted by the Lions Club

Lawnmower Racing at 5 p.m.; $10 admission for 3 days of racing or $5 per day

Sunday, July 3, 2022
Church services in the community building, followed by lunch and games

Lawnmower Races – $5 per day

Fireworks at dusk Sunday, July 3 at Plank Hill Park.

PER TWELVE MILE 500 ORGANIZERS: Fireworks will be shot from the black X on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
The “do not cross” line is south of the buildings at Moss Fertilizer in Twelve Mile.
Best viewing is in the grass area on the northwest side of the park, the old railroad bed, Community Building and south parking area of Moss Fertilizer.
Lower display shells will not be visible in town or lower in the park.
800 E. will be closed north of SR 16 from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. on July 3.

Morning qualifications for the Twelve Mile 500
3-on-3 basketball tournament in Plank Hill Park at 8:30 a.m.
Parade Lineup from 10-11 a.m.
Parade begins at 11:30 a.m.
60th running of Twelve Mile 500 Lawnmower Race at 1:30 p.m., $5 admission

PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Come register and take your place in line between 10 and 11 a.m. Registration tent will be set up in the old elevator entrance east of the bank on the south side of 16. Your place in line will be determined by whatever time you show up. First come – first serve! There will be a short form for you to fill out at the tent for the announcer to introduce you and your entry.

PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Walton July 4th parade entries are now being accepted. Parade is Mon. July 4th at 2:00. Lineup begins at 1:00 at Lewis Cass parking lot. All entries enter on Howard St. only. Parade route is 218-35 right on Angler Rd. and right to Maple St. and back to school. All entries need maybe made at or Carol Woolever 765-432-0945. Entries MUST have a complete description of entry along with all persons participating with the entry.

Dentzel Drive will be closed to the general public and all parking along Riverside Drive will be handicap parking only. There will be traffic control officers at 10th Street & Race Street as well as 10th Street & Riverside Drive to check for handicap placards. Homeowners that only have access from Riverside Drive will also be screened and allowed to access their homes. There will be a drop off location at the checkpoints for individuals and families that do not wish to walk.

We would like to also issue this friendly reminder: Please leave your pets at home. No personal fireworks are allowed and as always alcohol is not permitted in the park.

The River Bluff Trail and Hervey Preserve will be closed on Monday, July 4th starting at 7:00 p.m., for the
Logansport Park’s Department Independence Day Celebrations. To ensure that everyone has a safe holiday
weekend, they are asking that all individuals follow this closure to allow the city the appropriate time to set up for the evening’s festivities. The trail will reopen Tuesday, July 5th and activity can resume as normal.

CAROUSEL: The Cass County Dentzel Carousel will be open from 1-9 p.m. on Monday, July 4.

MUEHLHAUSEN PARK: The Splash Pad will open at 10:00 a.m. Muehlhausen Pool will open to the public from 12-6 p.m. Join in the fun with water/team races, gift baskets and raffles, sidewalk chalk, super soakers, and hula hoops.



NATIONAL ARCHIVES: On Monday, July 4, 2022, the National Archives will celebrate the 246th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence with its traditional in-person Fourth of July program featuring musical performances and family activities. The 10 a.m. ceremony will be livestreamed on the National Archives YouTube channel and on the US National Archives Facebook page. 

A CAPITOL FOURTH: This July 4th, A CAPITOL FOURTH welcomes country music star and four-time Grammy-nominee Mickey Guyton as host of the 42nd edition of America’s national Independence Day celebration on PBS. Guyton will lead an all-star cast in a patriotic evening of unrivaled musical performances by top stars from pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway featuring the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of premier pops conductor Jack Everly. The concert will also stream live at

MACY’S FIREWORKS: Spectators from coast-to-coast will also have a front row view of the pyro in the sky by tuning to NBC’s national broadcast of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular (8-10 p.m. ET/PT, 7-9 p.m. CT/MT, check local listings or stream the show on Peacock®). The nation’s No. 1 Independence Day special will also feature performances from some of music’s brightest stars.


LOGANSPORT UTILITIES: Offices will be closed on July 4, 2022 in observance of Fourth of July.

TRASH PICKUP: No trash pickup for Logansport residents on Monday, July 4, 2022. Pickups will be delayed one day, with a Saturday pickup.

CASS COUNTY GOVERNMENT BUILDING on 4th Street will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022.

INDIANA BMV: All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Saturday, July 2 through Monday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday, July 5.
