Ted Carl Petkovich

Ted Carl Petkovich, 89, Logansport, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 14, 2026. 

Ted was born on February 28, 1936, in Capari, Macedonia. He immigrated to America in 1953 and married his wife Menka in 1965.   They had two children, Nick and Steve.  He was a long-life member of Sts. Peter and Paul Macedonian Church.  He was a tool and die/cutter grind maker over 50 years.  He worked at Logan Machine, Modine, and retired from Chrysler.

He is preceded in death by his son Nick Petkovich, parents Kiril and Sofia Petkovich, father and mother-in-law Metodija and Slavka Velovski, brother and sister-in-law Boris and Vera Velovski, and brother-in-law Pete Mishevich.

Ted is survived by his loving family, wife of sixty-one years, Menka; son, Steve (Elizabeth) Petkovich, Grandchildren Nikola and Mila Petkovich; sister, Mica Mishevich,; brother, John Petkovich; and many family members though out the United States, Macedonia, Australia, and Canada

Ted enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Steve.  He took great pride in making memories with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed spending time with them, teaching them, and spoiling them.  He was always interested and very knowledgeable in world and current affairs. Ted enjoyed lively discussion and spirited debate with anyone sharing his zeal. 

He will forever be missed by his family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. (Central time) Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 9669 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana 46307, with visitation from 9:00 to10:00 a.m. prior to the service, also at the church. Rev. Georgij Gilgoriv and Rev. Alexandar Mitrov will officiate.

In Logansport, a graveside service will be held at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (Eastern time). Logansport area friends unable to travel to Crown Point are invited to attend.
