Franklin “Frank” L. Zody, 90, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, early Friday morning, April 10, 2026, at his home. Frank was born May 27, 1935, in Peru, Indiana to Harry and Mary (Cain) Zody. He married the love of his life Roselyn “Joyce” Dye on March 11, 1956, in the Loree Brethren Church and she survives.
Frank was a lifelong farmer. He started helping on the Miller family farm who were close neighbors when he was just 9 years old. Frank continued farming with his son Mark for the rest of his life. He enjoyed tinkering around in the shop and working on old trucks and tractors in his spare time. Frank and Joyce are still members of the Loree Brethren Church near Bunker Hill.
Surviving family include his wife Joyce of 70 years, his children, Mark and wife Susan Zody, of Kokomo and Kim and husband Alvin Miller of Bunker Hill. Surviving grandchildren include Sarah (Steven) Sherwood, Zach (Dessa) Miller, Jacob Zody and Lexi (Tyler) Miller. Frank was the proud great grandpa of Josiah, Abigail, Isabella and Isaiah Sherwood. He is also survived by siblings, Margaret Hinkle, Rex Zody, Irene Ruhl, Carl “Butch” Zody, and Joe Zody. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Glen Zody, Elzena Wagoner, Wayne Zody, Sue Squires and Gary Zody.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will follow on Friday morning at 10:00 am with pastors Norm Snyder and David Lantz officiating. Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loree Brethren Church, 8483 S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill, IN 46914 in Frank’s memory.
