Joyce A. Gordon, 52, of Young America, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born December 19, 1973, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Harty E. and Brenda (Stewart) Amonette. She married Albert M. Gordon in May of 1995 and he survives.
Joyce was a homemaker and enjoyed her family dearly. She loved puzzles, Mickey Mouse and children of all ages. She would light up the room when she would see a baby. She enjoyed trips to Tennessee and putting furniture together. She had a knack of knowing just how the pieces would fit.
She is survived by her husband Albert M. Gordon of Young America, her children, Brett (Felicity) Gordon of Galveston; Jessica Gordon of Kokomo; Ashley Gordon ( Ian McKinley ) of Peru; Dylan Gordon, Young America; and Bradley (Clarissa) Mossholder, Kokomo and her mother, Brenda Amonette of Sharpsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Owen and Oriah Gordon and Brooklynn Mossholder. She is also survived by siblings, Curtis (Alison) Amonette, and nieces Jordyn and Kelsey of Cicero, Al Amonette, Carol Amonette Ogden and Eva Amonette. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive her.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Marty Pursel officiating. Friends and family may visit from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Young America Cemetery.
