
Ronald R. “Ron” Russell

Ronald R. “Ron” Russell, 77, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord early Monday, April 13, 2026, at Northwoods Village Nursing Home in Kokomo. He was born September 9, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio to Ronald J. and Mary Louise (Frusher) Russell. Ron married the love of his life, Constance “Connie” Sue Royer on August 26, 1967, in Richmond, Indiana and she survives. They would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this coming August.
Ron graduated from Richmond High School and later Porter Business College. He worked at several jobs during his career starting with Nobil Shoe Co. in Richmond. He later worked for Endicott Johnson, Prudential Insurance Co. Auto Zone, and retired from Coca-cola in Kokomo. Ron loved the Lord with all of his heart and served as Elder in his church, Judson Road Christian Church in Kokomo. He enjoyed playing sports in his church leagues including basketball, football, softball and dart ball. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving family include his wife Connie Russell of Galveston; his two daughters, Shelley Park and Christin (Greg) Claxton and his grandsons, Nicholas and Liam Park. Ron is also survived by his brother’s in law, Keith (Joan) Royer and Kurt Royer and sisters in law, Kim Pierce and Kelly Royer. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gale and Steve Russell; brothers-in-law, Kenny and Kris Royer, sister-in-law, Karen Lawson and son-in-law, Jim Park.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to begin after visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Carpenter officiating.
Ron’s family would like to thank Northwoods Village and Anew Hospice for their care of Ron during his time there.
