Karen Stotler, 76, of Logansport, (Clymers) Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2026, following a battle with cancer.
Born January 31, 1950, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late James and Betty I. (Cree) Dillon.
On September 20, 1968, she married Richard Nelson, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Karen worked in the dietary department at the Logansport State Hospital for 16 years. She later retired from the Logansport Community School Corporation after 12 years as a student aide, where she lovingly supported handicapped students. She truly loved her job.
She also loved babysitting and caring for her grandchildren, especially those who lived close by. She loved all her grandchildren deeply and equally.
Karen had a set daily routine: she’d watch M*A*S*H*, then The Price is Right, and afterward she’d color on her phone or play games. She kept up with everyone on Facebook and never missed a chance to comment, like, or share. She was a devoted NASCAR fan, especially when her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, was on the track.
