Randy Craig “RC” Mix, 64, of Galveston, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, after an extended illness surrounded by people who loved him at his sister’s home. He was born June 8, 1961, in Kokomo to Harold “Sonny” and Velda L. (Sitzes) Mix. Randy was a 1979 graduate of Lewis Cass High School in Walton Indiana.
Randy loved classic cars, 70’s and 80’s Rock and Roll, Mountain Dew and Marlboros. Q95 was his favorite radio station to listen to as he pin striped and detailed cars at Mix’s Auto Sales in Kokomo and Galveston. Randy loved plowing snow and also striping the lawn as he mowed. Randy also enjoyed watching old westerns, the Rockford Files and Murder She Wrote. He was also a jokester.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy and husband Rob Newsome of Muncie and nephew Ryan and wife Corrynn Mix of Kokomo. He is also survived by great nieces Ellie and Emersyn and great nephew Leo, a special aunt, Carol Sitzes along with several cousins from Indiana, Arkansas and Florida. Randy is also survived by children he raised as his own, Timothy Armfield, Craig Roupe, Lacee Roupe, Lexcee Roupe, Ashlee Armfield, his faithful dog and companion Annabelle in addition to special nieces Caylie “Bug” Newsome and Mackenzie Newsome (Jaren Simmons) and great nephew Treyton. Randy also leaves behind several close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold Jr. and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30th, 2026, in the Galveston Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain AllenRawlins officiating. No visitation is planned.
