Darlene “Pug” M. Lowe, 86, of Logansport, passed away on April 23, 2026, at Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born June 21, 1939, in Logansport, Indiana, Pug was the daughter of David Tipton and Florence J. Svoma and grew up in the community she would always call home.

Pug was married to the love of her life, James “Jim” H. Lowe, on March 7, 1959, in Logansport. The two shared over 45 years of marriage before Jim’s passing on May 8, 2004. She worked as a waitress at the Elks and was also employed at White-Rodgers. Pug loved looking through family photos and cherished the memories they held. She was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church and enjoyed the friendships she made at Pleasant Escape, for the eight years she resided there.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Dana) Scott; her son, Robin (Maureen) Lowe; grandchildren, Nick (Maggie) Erickson, Kirsten (Caleb Koontz) Erickson, Melissa (Matt) Swisshelm, Michael Lowe, Adam (Jessica) Scott, and Ashley (Andy) Pedigo; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; in-laws, Pat Starbuck, Dave (Lori) Lowe, and Jerry Spangler; along with other loving family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Lowe; her son, Jeffrey Eric Lowe; her parents; her brother, Alan Hughes; and in-laws, Marian Starbuck and Melba Spangler.

Pug will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to her family, and the life she built in the Logansport community. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Pug’s dear friend, Baylie, for the compassionate care and kindness shown to her.

Funeral services are currently pending. A public visitation and service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, Pleasant Escape, or St. James Lutheran Church.
