Fred Eugene Boehme, Jr., 74, Flora, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Born May 24, 1952, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Fred Eugene Sr. and Edna (Towe) Boehme.

On June 16, 1973, in Logansport, he was married to Joan (Winegardner) Boehme, who survives.

Fred proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Some soldiers lose their lives in service, and many others return home carrying wounds that are not visible. Fred was one of those who bore a service‑related disability long after the war had ended.

He spent 38 years working in maintenance at National Friction, a dependable worker and a steady provider for his family. Home for Fred was a quiet stretch of woods – his own bit of Heaven – where he could hunt, fish, and ride 4‑wheelers across the land he loved.

Surviving with his wife are his children: Angela (Steve) Rizzo, Melinda Taylor, and Travis (Daniell) Boehme; three siblings, Kay Boehme, Brian Boehme, and Kevin Boehme; grandchildren: Austin Taylor, Alyssa Taylor, Aydrial Taylor and Evalynn Boehme; and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Mike, Mark, and Kathy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport.

At 6:00 p.m. the United States Army Honor Guard and the Cass County Honor Guard will accord Fred with military honors around the flagpole at the funeral home.
