OVERVIEW:

Provides secondary leadership on their respective shift for Heat Treat and Deburr in the absence of the primary Heat Treat/Deburr Lead. Ensures that tested results are received as needed, orders are processed correctly, and hardness results are on target. Accomplishes results through coaching, counseling and directing people. Plans, monitors and appraises job results. Implements and enforces systems, policies, procedures and overall organizational standards, including those related to Quality, Production, Environmental and Safety in the absence of the Heat Treat/Deburr Shift Lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ability to performs all essential functions of an “AA” Operator
  • Understands, follows and enforces company policies and procedures
  • Assigns jobs and delegates projects to direct reports in the absence of the primary Lead
  • Serves as a working lead and understands job requirements as defined in the functions of – Austemper, Quality Lab and Deburr – at times will be required to step in and work on the floor within these functions
  • Demonstrates and trains employees to perform tasks properly
  • Develops and fosters teamwork
  • Coaches people through listening and providing constructive feedback
  • Addresses non-performance when necessary and applicable
  • Maintains responsibility for all heat-treated and deburred parts (in absence of the Shift Lead)
  • Maintains responsibility for upholding a clean and safe work environment
  • Properly documents and reports deviations of procedure, and addresses negative performance promptly
  • Assists maintenance personnel in performing necessary repairs when required
  • Helps start up or shut down the furnaces when required
  • Assists employees in other departments as needed
  • Provides training to staff

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct responsibilities but serves as backup supervisor to Primary Heat Treat and Deburr Leads.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing and/or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Ability to provide clear communication and feedback
  • Capable of building and leading teams; ability to identify and leverage employee strengths
  • Must be accountable for team performance
  • Ability and desire to problem solve and carry out instructions
  • Able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability to apply and utilize mathematical concepts such as technical mathematics, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions and ability to use a calculator to solve practical solutions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (*_Physical Demand Sheet is attached_*):

  • Regular use of hands and fingers; regularly stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds; potentially need to move products up to 75 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes and airborne particles
  • Able to work consistently using hearing protection, around heavy mechanical machinery and often in hot temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
