OVERVIEW:

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in commercial and industrial applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to and upholds HTI policies and procedures
  • Responsible for identifying and recording quality and production related problems through organizational channels
  • Assists with the verification of implemented solutions
  • Alerts supervision to halt the processing of nonconforming products, processes or services until proper procedures are completed
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
  • Informs Maintenance Lead of issues needing corrected; communicates issues to shift lead and Management
  • Keeps Maintenance Lead informed of the progress status of items currently in process
  • Maintains work area in a state of order and cleanliness
  • Notifies lead of components needed to complete tasks and the inventory status of components
  • Reviews charts for trends, erratic readings, smells and listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Installs and repairs electrical components, such as bending and running conduit, service disconnects, transformers, wiring, multi-phase electric motors, and electrical / electronic components of equipment
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
  • Installs and repairs automated machinery and equipment such as switches, contactors, frequency drives, sensors, etc.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Operates powered industrial trucks (forklifts), scissor lift and boom lift
  • Helps start up or shut down the furnaces when required
  • Helps other employees in different areas when required
  • Knowledge of the startup and shut down procedures for the furnaces
  • Knowledge of the basics and the location of the MSDS book
  • Knowledge of the Quality, Procedure, and Work Instruction manuals
  • Knowledge of the scrap procedures
  • Knowledge of the process trac sheets.
  • Knowledge of the Safety/OSHA and Quality Policy, Objectives and procedures
  • All other duties as required and amended

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred
  • Ability to provide clear communication and feedback
  • Works safely, understands lock-out/tag-out, HAZMAT, and can operate forklift and Scissor Aerial lift
  • Ability to problem solve and carry out instructions
  • Able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Consistently use hands and fingers; able to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds; potentially need to move products up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes and airborne particles
  • Able to work consistently with hearing protection and often in hot temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
