Job Description
- Work collaboratively with staff administrators in identification of strength needs of individual students in relation to independent function in the school setting
Job Requirements
- Conduct evaluations in the areas of gross motor function(i.e., reflex level, range of motion, muscle strength, respiratory function, etc.) as it relates to education
- Provide habilitative and rehabilitative services through direct therapy and/or therapist-directed gross motor therapies as it relates to education
- Develop gross motor goals and objectives for the students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s)
- Provide assistance in developing IEP’s through attendance at case conferences
- Assist in the design, fabrication, and adaptation of materials, equipment, and the educational environment
- Provide consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators concerning gross motor needs and individual students as it is related to education
- Provide progress towards IEP goals every 9 weeks or as documented in IEP
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from a four year college or university
- Valid Indiana Physical Therapy License
- Must complete and clear all Indiana background check requirements for school personnel
- Must complete and clear drug screen
