We’ve made some changes! We’re always listening to feedback and looking for ways to improve the services we offer. We’ve decided to try moving our “bulletin board” to the front page of CassCountyOnline.com so the first thing you’ll see when you visit is a list of local news, information and resources curated by the staff of Cass County Communication Network.

🏊 The Muehlhausen Park Aquatic Center has closed for the season but the splash pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Labor Day.

🗳️ A special election to fill the vacancy in the Office of U.S. Representative for the 2nd Congressional District will be held concurrently with the general election on November 8, 2022. Caucuses to fill ballot vacancies for the upcoming special election and the upcoming general election will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Mishawaka. The eastern portion of Cass County is now part of the 2nd Congressional District.| More info

🚧 State Road 16 will be reduced to one lane over the West Branch Twelve Mile Creek between State Road 25 and C.R. 500 E, and a temporary traffic signal will be installed to direct traffic. - Rental Assistance – The Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides up to 18 months of rental and utility assistance to those who self-attest to having been impacted by COVID-19.
- Utility Assistance – The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Low-Income Home Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) helps Hoosier homeowners and renters pay their heat, electric and water bills: eap.ihcda.in.gov.
- Mortgage Assistance – The Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund (IHAF) provides mortgage assistance for Hoosiers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
🇺🇸 The Military Family Relief fund offers emergency grants for veterans and their dependent family members experiencing financial hardship. To see if you qualify visit in.gov/dva.

💜 The Cass County Domestic Violence Task Force offers a free local support group for survivors of domestic violence that meets weekly. Free child care is available. For more information, call 574-722-2119.
📱 988 is a new national three-digit dialing code to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. In Indiana, Hoosiers experiencing mental health-related distress may call 988 to connect to a trained crisis specialist.
📱 The Be Well Crisis Helpline is available through Indiana 211 and enables Indiana residents to speak with trained, compassionate counselors 24/7. Indiana residents can speak with a trained mental health counselor by dialing 2-1-1 or the toll-free number, 866-211-9966, entering their ZIP code and selecting the option for the Be Well Crisis Helpline. In addition, Be Well Indiana’s website contains supplemental resources including blog posts and videos offering tips for maintaining mental health as well as self-screening tools.
