Twelve Mile man killed in one vehicle crash

On Monday, March 2 at 4:30 p.m., Cass County Sheriff Deputies responded to report of a personal injury crash on County Road 50 East, just north of County Road 300 North, involving a single vehicle.
Deputy Branson Eber stated that a 2000 Chrysler van driven by Tracy W. Nilson, 48, of Twelve Mile was traveling north on CR 50 E, just north of CR 300 N. Nilson’s vehicle then left the roadway and struck a tree.
Deputy Eber stated that Nilson had run off the west side of roadway and over-corrected as he drove back onto the pavement and lost control of his vehicle, which traveled off the east side of the roadway striking a tree.
Deputies believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash and are awaiting toxicology reports.
Nilson was pronounced dead at the scene by Cass County Coroner Randy Rozzi.
Deputy Eber was assisted at the scene by Deputy Gary Armstrong, Sheriff Randy Pryor, Cass County Coroner Randy Rozzi, Prompt Ambulance Service and Cass County Fire District 1. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
