Logansport senior competes at National Speech Tournament

Lorie Flanagan, Logansport High School Senior and Co-Captain of the Speech Team, competed in the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Tournament, held in Salt Lake City, Utah, June 12-17. Flanagan, competing in her memorized 10 minute Original Oratory and 5 minute Prose, was among the top speech competitors in the nation as she spoke against more than 400 students from across the country in each event. She successfully advanced past the first break of eliminations in Prose, cutting 200 students from the competition. Flanagan represented the Logansport High School Speech Team with professionalism and poise, and will begin her preparations for the 2016-2017 season in the fall. Flanagan’s success at Nationals marked Logan’s 40th year of representation at the tournament by 120 Logansport Speech Team students since 1939. Go Berries!!
