Karli DeHaven was crowned Miss Cass County 2016 as the 56th annual Cass County 4-H Fair got underway on Sunday, July 10.
“It’s absolutely unbelievable. This is my tenth year in 4-H so it just makes this week even more special than it would have been anyways, but I’m so excited.”
DeHaven was Teen Miss Cass County two years ago, so she’s experienced fair week as a member of the queen’s court before.
“It’s definitely really cool like handing out all the ribbons at all the shows and stuff, and seeing all the 4-Hers, it’s really neat.”
After the pageant, DeHaven reflected on what being Miss Cass County means to her.
“Already just all the little girls that come up and want pictures, it’s like you already see how much of an impact you have on them.”
Miss Cass County Karli DeHaven is looking forward to the year ahead.
“I just want to let people know about Cass County, I’m mean, I’m so excited to represent it, so it will be really fun. I’d like to thank my sponsor Todd Reiff at North Central Indiana Sports Medicine for being my sponsor to night, they’ve helped me a lot. Also my family and friends, being out there and making me smile tonight. It’s really neat.
The court includes 1st runner-up Jennifer Crafford, 2nd runner-up Jael Forker, 3rd runner-up and Miss Congeniality Shailin Heckard and 4th runner-up Kylie Pugh.
A total of 13 contestants participated in this year’s pageant, including Bayli Torrey, Mickayla Rans, Suzie McKaig, Marissa Bergstedt, Sarah Fisher, Dayanna Romo, Traci Stark and Patrisha Hartley.
Little Miss Cass County Contestants included Mya Case, Jasmin Gunter, Capreese Jones, Breonna Laurence, Haley Logan, Noah Ogle, Rylee Miller, Rylan Preston, Natalie Quaglio, Annabelle Shackelford, Reagan Smith, Madelyn Sprow, Lauren Tocco, Rylee Zimmerman and Little Miss Cass County 2016 Olivia Thomas.
Jr. Miss Contestants were Nautica Aldridge, Madilyn Brown, Natalie Coffing, Emma Ehle, Carsyn Gilbert, Aleya Mygrant, Hannah Plauschin, Kyah Preston and Jr. Miss Cass County 2016 Finley Hettinger.
Teen Miss Contestants were Courtney Fry, Brianna Florida, Rachel Miller, Elizabeth Smith, Natalie Shepler, Bailey Storey, Ali Williams and Teen Miss Cass County 2016 Logan Torrey.
