kelleyLarry Dean Kelley, 76, of Logansport, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 in his home.

Born September 22, 1940,  in White County, he was the son of  the late Oscar P.  and Vera Mae (Myers) Kelley. His step-mother, Mary Jane Kelley also preceded him in death.

On November 14, 1964, in the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church, Larry was married to Marilyn Suzanne “Susie” (Kite) Kelley, who survives.

A 1959 graduate of Logansport High School, Larry went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963.

After 31 1/2 years, Larry retired from NIPSCO where he had spent 25 years as an area crew supervisor. The remaining years, he worked as a dispatcher in Fort Wayne.

Larry was a member of the Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church. He was also a member of American Legion Post 60 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 3790. Larry enjoyed bowling and woodworking.

Surviving with his wife are  two children  Tracy S. Kelley of  Logansport and Debra A. (John) Raughter of Indianapolis; his brother-in-law, Mark Decker of Fort Wayne who was more like a son-in-law; four grandchildren, Stephanie Decker, Michelle Decker, Reagan Raughter and Erin Raughter; one brother, Dick P. Kelley of Logansport; one sister Karen S. Swanson of Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Kelley Decker, who he raised as a daughter in his home; Roselyn M. Jones and Verna M. Tevis.

A funeral service celebrating Larry Kelley’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 in the funeral chapel.
