14 Things to Know for Monday, Oct. 3, 2016

Here are a few things we thought you might want to know today:

The Cass County Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. today  at the Cass County Government Building. You can take a look at their agenda here.

The Logansport City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. tonight and will hold the first reading on the 2017 budget. The first reading of an ordinance establishing the “Tipton School Planned Unit Development” at 16th and Wright Streets is also on the agenda. The Town of Galveston will also hold their 2017 budget hearing tonight. More info here.

The candidates for Indiana governor will debate at 7 p.m. tonight on the topics of jobs and the economy. Find more information here.

The candidates for vice president of the United States will debate Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 9-10:30 p.m. Find more information here.

The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay will come through Cass County Friday, Oct. 7 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. You can see the route and a list of torch bearers, locations and approximate times here.

Friday, Oct. 7 is also National Manufacturing Day and several area employers will be participating in open houses at Ivy Tech in Logansport and Kokomo. More info here.

Mayor Dave Kitchell has proclaimed Oct. 7-9 as Homecoming Weekend in Logansport!

Logansport Church of the Brethren is offering a new support group for parents of children with addictions. More info here.
