
Columbus Day Closures

In commemoration of Christopher Columbus’s historic voyage 524 years ago, the Congress, by joint resolution of April 30, 1934, and modified in 1968 (36 U.S.C. 107), as amended, has requested the President proclaim the second Monday of October of each year as “Columbus Day.” Read the proclamation here.
USPS: Retail services at Post Offices throughout Indiana will be closed on Monday, Oct. 10 in recognition of Columbus Day. Regularly scheduled mail delivery, PO Box and caller services will also be suspended for the holiday.
BMV: All BMV license branches will be closed Saturday, Oct. 8 through Monday, Oct. 10 in observance of the Columbus Day Holiday. All license branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 11. For a complete list of branch locations and hours to complete online transactions, visit myBMV.com.
CASS COUNTY GOVERNMENT BUILDING: The Cass County Government Building is closed Monday, Oct. 10 in observance of Columbus Day.
EEL TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE: The Eel Township Trustee’s office will be closed on Monday, October 10 in observance of the Columbus Day Holiday. The office will be open for business as normal on Tuesday, October 11 at 8:00 AM.
