Gubernatorial Debate Monday, Oct. 3, Vice Presidential Debate Tuesday, Oct. 4

The following information regarding debates between candidates for president and vice president, and Indiana’s candidates for governor and U.S. Senate, was compiled from information from the Indiana Debate Commission and Commission on Presidential Debates.

GUBERNATORIAL DEBATE

Democrat John Gregg, Republican Eric Holcomb and Libertarian Rex Bell, candidates for Indiana governor, will participate in a televised debate organized by the Indiana Debate Commission tonight.

The Oct. 3 debate will focus on the topics of jobs and the economy, with John Ketzenberger, president of the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute, moderating. Tickets, which are free, are available at the University of Indianapolis at http://uindy.edu/debate2016. Those wanting to obtain tickets will need to establish an online account at the website. Tickets are limited to four per person.

Their third debate on Oct. 25 will focus on health and social issues.

VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

Republican Mike Pence and Democrat Tim Kaine will participate in a vice presidential debate Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 9 to 10:30 p.m. at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. The moderator will be Elaine Quijano, Anchor, CBSN and Correspondent, CBS News.

The debate will be divided into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each.

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES

Two more presidential debates are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 9 and Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 9-10:30 p.m.

SENATE DEBATES

The Democratic, Republican and Libertarian candidates for U.S. senator in Indiana have agreed to meet Oct. 18 in a televised debate organized by the Indiana Debate Commission.

The debate among Democrat Evan Bayh, Republican Todd Young and Libertarian Lucy Brenton will meet Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.  in a televised debate organized by the Indiana Debate Commission.

Members of the public can submit questions they would put to the candidates. Questions can be submitted to the IDC through its website at http://indianadebatecommission.com. The debate commission will select questions on a variety of topics for use in the debates.
