INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Republican Party State Central Committee today unanimously chose Kyle Hupfer, the 5th Congressional District Chairman, treasurer of Eric Holcomb for Indiana and most recently co-chair of the Holcomb-Crouch Transition Board, to serve as State Chairman of the Party. Hupfer, who will remain chairman of the 5th District until the Party’s scheduled re-organization process in early March, is chief administrative officer and general counsel of Indiana Mills & Manufacturing, Inc. He previously served as director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources under then-Governor Mitch Daniels.

“My team and I have been working with stakeholders around Indiana every day of this transition period to develop a comprehensive plan to provide value to our candidates, elected officials, supporters and constituents,” said Chairman Hupfer. “That includes enhanced training, better internal communication and coordination and improved messaging all aimed at preparing us to both maintain our hold of statewide offices, and most importantly, defeat Joe Donnelly in 2018.”

Governor Eric Holcomb, who announced his request that Hupfer serve as chairman last December, added, “Chairman Hupfer will be a focused and passionate advocate for Republican candidates at every level of public service. Under his leadership, the Indiana Republican Party will continue to be a Party with purpose by fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration that will propel our candidates to victory and bring even more forward-looking policies to our city halls, to our Statehouse and to Washington, D.C.”

Speaker Brian Bosma said, “Congratulations to my friend Kyle Hupfer, as he adds to the legacy of other great State Party chairs who have helped move this party and our state forward. This is an exciting time for the Indiana Republican Party, and I look forward to working with Kyle and his team.”

Senate President Pro Tempore David Long said, “I’ve known Kyle for many years, both during his service at the Department of Natural Resources and in the private sector. He’s an extremely capable and talented person and I’m confident he will serve the Indiana Republican Party with integrity and skill.”

Hupfer is the State Chairman of the Indiana Republican Party. Additionally, he is chief administrative officer and general counsel of Indiana Mills & Manufacturing, Inc, Republican chairman of 5th Congressional District, treasurer of Eric Holcomb for Indiana and was co-chair of the Holcomb-Crouch Transition Board.  Hupfer has previously served as the director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for Governor Mitch Daniels, chairman of the Indiana State Fair Commission and a partner at Frost Brown Todd LLC. He is currently a trustee at Manchester University, where he served as team captain of the school’s NCAA Division III Runner-Up basketball team, and a member of several other not-for-profit organizations. Hupfer and his wife, Jill, live in Pendleton with their three children.
