On Friday, April 7, Logansport Memorial Hospital celebrated its two-millionth patient encounter. Kristen Carter Hall was registered in the hospital’s electronic medical record as this special encounter, and it is a milestone worth celebrating! Kristen was at Logansport Memorial that day registering for lab work and a CT scan.

Our electronic medical records system for hospital visits, known as Meditech, has been in place since February of 2001 here at the hospital. Patient encounters are recorded each time a patient has an experience with LMH. Encounters are not considered unique visits, because one patient could have hundreds of encounters over time with the hospital. But two-million encounters with various patients and families in our community is still equivalent to that many lives impacted and touched numerous times by the care our physicians and staff deliver every day.

“To know that we have been chosen two-million times by various patients and families in this community, and other communities that we serve, is very special to us,” comments Perry Gay, President and CEO of Logansport Memorial Hospital. “It illustrates the trust and confidence that our patients repeatedly place in us each time they choose to use LMH for their healthcare. In today’s healthcare world, each patient has a choice in where to receive the care they need, and it’s important and special to us each and every time we are a patient’s choice. We wanted to celebrate this milestone of service to Logansport, Cass County, and our surrounding counties.”

Thank you to Kristen and her family for the confidence you have continued to place in us. We are honored to be your healthcare provider, and consider it our privilege to provide high-quality care that exceeds expectations for all of our patients.
