A Logansport businesswoman who resides in one of the city’s historic districts is the newest appointee to the Logansport Historic Preservation Commission.
Judy Masters, owner of Judy’s Good Life in downtown Logansport, will succeed Paul Kroeger, who chairs the commission.
“Judy is a stakeholder in local historic preservation efforts because she lives on Bankers Row, which is probably our most prominent historic district,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said today. “We’re glad to involve those who will have the best interests of historic preservation representing the interests of the city on the commission.”
Masters’ term will expire at the end of 2019.
The mayor said he appreciated Kroeger returning to the commission last year after serving on the commission previously.
“Paul’s schedule often takes him not only out of town, but from time to time, outside the country,” Kitchell said. “Given the demands on him personally and professionally, he’s helped us move forward with the creation of the Riverside Historic District and the revised inventory of historic structures in the city. For 18 months, that’s a real accomplishment, along with the support for the Memorial Center restoration. He has served our community well in a number of capacities, including co-hosting the radio show ‘The Chamber Today’ for decades.”
