Trine University in Logansport is proud to announce Kayla Gibbons as the August Student of the Month. Kayla graduated with an engineering degree from Trine University in Angola, Indiana in 2013. She was able to obtain her current position as an environmental engineer at Rochester Metal Products through on-site interviews that were held at Trine University. Kayla has been with the company just over four years and decided to start her master degree in engineering management with Trine University – Logansport in the fall of 2016.

Kayla states that, “I think the MSEM program was a great program and I am so thankful that in May for graduation, my daughter will be there. I knew that I wanted to get my master’s degree but once we found out we would be expecting our first child that made the drive to finish even stronger because I wasn’t doing it for myself anymore, I was doing it to for my family now. I am very thankful for all of the professors that helped me throughout the entire program. Doing the accelerated program and finishing in 11 months was definitely tough work but I am so glad that I finished and it was an even bigger honor to be chosen as the outstanding student in the MSEM program. I hope that my experience helps others who are thinking about going back to school know that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it.”

Kayla Gibbons was recently recognized at the master degree hooding ceremony in Angola as the outstanding student in the Master of Science in Engineering Management program. She was selected for her outstanding performance in her field and had an opportunity to speak to those in attendance at the ceremony regarding her experience.
