It was with great joy that we welcomed our Sister School from Hengdian Elementary from China. Each Chinese guest was assigned an American ambassador student who spent the week with them, helping them experience America and, in exchange, learning about Chinese culture. On Monday, we had a welcome program involving student performances. That night, the students and their families enjoyed a celebration at the Dentzel Carousel with pizza and the Logansport Fire Department’s fire truck and smokehouse. On Wednesday, we took our Chinese friends and Franklin student ambassadors to Camp Tecumseh YMCA and enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors laughing, working together and learning from each other.
We could not have provided this experience without our generous community partners’ support. We would like to thank Cass County Title, Boardwalk Cafe, Kitchell Insurance Agency, the Logansport Fire Department, Logansport Memorial Hospital, Logansport Savings Bank, Pizza Hut, Salin Bank, Security Federal, Workman and Associates, and Walmart.
