Last Updated on December 24, 2017 by cassnetwork

As of 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Cass County is under a travel advisory (yellow). This is the lowest level of local travel advisory, and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

EMA Director Alvin Beckman says as of 2 p.m. between 2.5 to 3 inches of snow had fallen in Cass County, which remains under a winter weather advisory through 7 p.m. tonight. Beckman says city, county and state road crews are out but it’s a wet snow that packs into ice, and advises people to give themselves plenty of travel time, reduce speeds and drive safely.
