Logansport police are being more visible along main thoroughfares in recent weeks.
Mayor Dave Kitchell said Friday the increased patrols are a response to speeding on East Broadway and Market late on weekend nights. One property-damage accident in the 1500 block of East Broadway caused some concerns among residents.
“It’s close to spring-like weather and with the snow gone, some drivers are taking advantage of the road conditions,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said. “I applaud Chief Rob Smith’s decision to step up patrols to send a message, particularly to younger motorists, that we want them to obey the speed limits.”
