A former Logansport resident who now serves as an assistant director at an Indiana center for victims of human trafficking and child abuse has been selected to receive a weekly city award.
Lindsay Price, daughter of Jim and Robin Price, is employed with Tru Harbor in Muncie. She is a 2007 graduate of Logansport High School.
Mayor Dave Kitchell named her the Logansport Citizen of the Week, citing her commitment to the lives of children and the innocent victims of crime not only domestically, but internationally.
“When a young person chooses a college major, the labels don’t always fit a job or situation like Lindsay’s,” Kitchell said. “It takes people like her who give more than 40 hours a week to a position like this, because they’re dealing with people who have been wronged beyond description in some cases. It takes people with extra heart to go the extra mile for clients who may not have anyone else.”
The Citizen of the Week is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and recognizes Logansport natives or residents who contribute to the community or are recognized for their achievements. Recipients received a certificate of appreciation from the city and a $20 gift certificate.
