The Cass County Community Foundation Board of Directors is excited to announce that an even greater pool of community grant funds will be available to Cass County non-profits during the 2018 Competitive Community Grant process.  CCCF President Deanna Crispen announced that the Foundation has made up to $120,000 available for this year’s competitive grants. When making the announcement, Crispen stated, “We have continued to enjoy substantial growth over the last decade increasing our grant money from approximately $19,000 just 13 years ago to $120,000 this year! Our board has continued to work diligently to grow our funds so that every year we can offer more back to the community for important projects. This year’s pool of $120,000 marks the thirteenth consecutive year that the Foundation has increased the amount available.”

Thanks to generous donations from Cass County citizens, as well as effective stewardship and financial management of unrestricted funds, CCCF has continued to consistently meet the community’s needs through awarding grants. Non-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations serving Cass County are encouraged to apply for funding for projects which benefit the community and improve the quality of life in Cass County.

A free grant-writing workshop was held Tuesday May 15 at the Cass County Community Foundation building, and in addition to the traditional competitive grants program, a new opportunity grants program was introduced. Crispen shared, “The new “Opportunity Grants” are designed for projects seeking less than $5,000. The application process for the new grants has been simplified and will consist of only one to two pages. The timeline and turnaround for funding will also be much shorter however reporting requirements and eligibility remain the same.”

The new opportunity grants will be awarded on a rolling basis and for as long as funding is available. Crispen stated, “We hope this new format will give us a process and structure to address smaller projects that form outside of the competitive grants timeline.”

Grant applications may be picked up at the CCCF office, 729 E. Market Street, downtown Logansport, or downloaded from the Foundation website (www.casscountycf.org).The deadline to return completed competitive grant applications is by 5 p.m. on Tuesday June 26, 2018.

For information about the application process, contact the CCCF office at 574-722-2200.
