B&K EAST CLOSING MAY 26

The Logansport Board of Zoning Appeals approved several requests from Burger King representatives at their meeting last night, setting the stage for the company to relocate to the northwest corner of 24th and Market Streets where B&K East is currently located. The developer has purchased the home that sits west of B&K and that parcel is zoned residential, so the company was asking for a use variance. The rest of the property is zoned for neighborhood business, which includes fast food restaurants. The board approved the use variance and also several requests related to signage. Mark Selvio, owner of B&K, said the business and property had been on the market for two years. He said that in January, he received a full price offer from the developers for Burger King.

The Selvios announced last night on Facebook that the last day of business for Selvios B-K Root Beer East will be Saturday, May 26.

A representative for Burger King said they hope to begin construction in July and to be ready to open at the new location when their existing lease ends in November. Burger King has been in Logansport since 1988.
