Here are five things you might want to know for Wednesday, May 30, 2018:

IVY TECH HOLDING SUMMER CAMPS

Ivy Tech announced late last week that it’s not too late to sign up for a new summer camp being offered in June in Kokomo. Two sessions of the two-day “Gearing Up Girls for STEM,” will be aimed at middle school girls. Presented by Ivy Tech, in partnership with the FCA US Transmission & Casting Women’s Group, the camp will introduce participants to a wide range of STEM opportunities through hands-on experiences in physics, biochemistry, engineering, biology, aerodynamics, advanced manufacturing, and virtual reality.

The camp is open to girls going into the sixth to eighth grades and will be offered June 4 and 5 or June 7 and 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Ivy Tech’s Automotive Technology building at 1942 E. North St. Cost is $20 per student and registration is open by contacting Susan Turrill at sturrill@ivytech.edu or 765-252-5497.

PARKS DEPARTMENT YOUTH TRACK REGISTRATION TONIGHT & THURSDAY

The Logansport Parks Department will hold registration tonight and Thursday for their annual youth track program. The program is open to children between the ages of 4 and 14. Registration will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at Logansport HS Stadium.

FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY HELPS THE SALVATION ARMY

Third graders at Franklin Elementary recently presented The Salvation Army in Logansport with a monetary gift of $1,000. The class had been working on an economic unit called “Franklin Fun Town” for four weeks and part of this unit was raising money for an organization of the groups choosing.

CCCF HOLDING ANOTHER MEETING IN GALVESTON

The Cass County Community Foundation will hold a town hall meeting Thursday evening in Galveston. CCCF is keeping the offer to add $25 for each adult person who attends to the Galveston Fund up to the remaining $2,125 allocated for Galveston. The meeting will be held at the Cleo Metcalf Community Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

GRADUATION IS SUNDAY

All four Cass County School Corporations (Logansport, Lewis Cass, Pioneer and Caston) will hold their commencement ceremonies at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3. Because of graduation, the Logansport Municipal Pool will be closed Sunday as well.
