Excursions from Logansport to Kokomo on June 30 cancelled

Due to the heat advisory in effect, the Indiana Transportation Museum will not have train rides between Logansport and Kokomo for the Haynes-Apperson Festival.

Two excursions had been scheduled Saturday, departing from a boarding area east of 18th Street.

Plans call for excursions to resume during the Christmas season.

It won’t exactly be the Iron Horse Festival, but there will be passenger train excursions this summer.

The Indiana Transportation Museum announced today it will have two excursions June 30 from Logansport to Kokomo as part of the Haynes-Apperson Festival. The boarding area will be behind Brown Construction on Stony Pike east of 18th Street.

Ticket information and times for the excursions will be available on www.itm.org.

These are the third excursions offered in Cass County since Thanksgiving. The museum offered excursions from Anoka and Kokomo from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas. In March, the museum offered Bunny Hop Express excursions from Walton to Kokomo. These are the first excursions offered from Logansport.
