Market Street Bridge in Logansport to Close for Replacement

UPDATE AS OF DEC. 6, 2019: Per Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell, work on the new Market Street Bridge project will conclude soon, and although weather conditions could change, the tentative opening date is Dec. 20, 2019. Final work on the bridge will not be complete until April 7 when sealing and striping will be completed.
Update as of Sept. 28, 2019: About ¾ of the deck had been poured as of Sept. 17, but there’s still a good amount of work left on the east end. INDOT is anticipating the project wrapping up by the end of the year.
Update as of July 9: The Market Street bridge is currently expected to reopen by the end of September.

LOGANSPORT – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that the Market Street Bridge, over the Eel River on Business 24/Old SR 25 in Logansport (Cass County), will close between Front Street and Eel River Avenue on Thursday, June 28, 2018 for a bridge replacement project.
The project is expected to last about a year, with the bridge reopening by July 2019.
State road detours must be on state-maintained roads only. Westbound drivers on Market Street (Business 24) will be detoured south on 3rd Street to Burlington Avenue, then west on Hoosier Heartland Highway and north on SR 29-U.S. 35/U.S. 24 bypass back to Business 24. Eastbound drivers on Business 24 will be detoured south on SR 29-U.S. 35/U.S. 24 bypass, east on Hoosier Heartland Highway and then north on Burlington Avenue to 3rd Street back to Market Street.
