Polar Bear Express will return to Logansport for second run in November 2018

LOGANSPORT – An attraction that drew more than 14,000 people during the holiday season from Thanksgiving to Christmas will be back.

The Polar Bear Express, sponsored by the Indiana Transportation Museum, will be operating again in Cass and Howard counties. Ticket reservations may be available as early as late next week on the museum Web site, www.itm.org.

The museum, formerly headquartered in Noblesville, ran the Polar Bear Express and the Bunny Hop Express in the past year. A third excursion from Logansport to Kokomo had been planned but was canceled due to extreme heat advisories.

“We’re fortunate to be able to offer this to families spending time together during Thanksgiving weekend and the holiday season,” Mayor Dave Kitchell said Saturday. “Given the limited time to publicize this last year and the overwhelming response, we should expect similar if not greater crowd sizes this year.”

The mayor acknowledged the support of Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight and his administration along with Kokomo Grain, the Ortman family and United Rail and U.S. Rail in making the excursions possible.
